Year 1, Forest school at home, Autumn term 1

This half term we are working on developing shoe lace tying skills and overhand knots to use in our woodlands.  We have started off by learning how to tie a simple overhand knot around our welly boot and then around a stick.

If you find yourself at home and missing your Forest school session, here are some ways you can still join in…

Practice tying the knots the way we did last week…

Practice tying an over hand knot onto a stick or chopstick- you could use it to make a journey stick, where you attach other things to it, for yarn wrapping sticks from your garden, or attach it to blu-tac, a paperclip ‘hook’ or a magnet, to play a fishing game
