Wildlife camera September/October 2022

Our woodlands have been busy with us visiting over the last couple of months, but the residents have been busy too.

The children noticed a large hole being dug over the course of a few nights in mid September and we took some plaster cast footprints to try to establish what animal was busy there.  We guessed at fox or badger based on previous detective work we have done…

The cameras show both animals repeatedly entering the hole, but not very often leaving! I expect we may find a second exit/ entrance to this den/ sett somewhere nearby which would explain it- unless they are are an awful lot of each animal in the hole! There’s definitely some more detective work to be done here…

Have a look at the videos yourself and do a little research, or maybe you know someone who can help us find out more?
